The 270max provides molecular size, absolute molecular weight, and intrinsic viscosity measurements in a single experiment
The Viscotek 270max is a modular advanced detector Gel Permeation / Size Exclusion Chromatography system that operates at ambient temperature. It is specifically designed for the characterization of natural and synthetic polymers, copolymers, proteins, nanoparticles and other macromolecules. The 270max is configured as follows:
  • Model 270 Differential Viscometer/Low Angle Light Scattering (LALS) Dual Detector.
  • Model 3580 Refractive Index (RI) Detector with superior linearity and baseline stability.
  • GPCmax™ Pump/Autosampler/Degasser Module for automated solvent and sample delivery.
  • OmniSEC™ GPC/SEC software for complete system control.
The 270max will provide absolute molecular weight without extrapolation or correction, molecular size (Rh to less than 1 nm and Rg), and intrinsic viscosity as well as information on structure, conformation, aggregation and branching in a single GPC/SEC experiment. By adding a UV/VIS Detector to create a modular tetra detector system, the 270max will also provide information on copolymer composition.

The Model 270 Dual Detector features a proven four-capillary differential viscometer and revolutionary Low Angle Light Scattering (LALS) detector that operate at ambient temperature. The viscometer measures intrinsic viscosity and is used to determine molecular size (Rh to less than 1nm) and density. The viscometer also provides additional information on structure, conformation, aggregation and branching. The LALS detector provides absolute molecular weight without the assumptions, corrections or extrapolations required by alternative light scattering techniques such as MALS.

GPCmaxTM

The GPCmax is a unique, integrated pump, autosampler and degasser module specifically designed for GPC/SEC applications. It features a variable injection volume autosampler capable of handling 2 ml or 20 ml vials, an isocratic pump for pulseless and reproducible solvent flow and an in-line solvent degasser. The GPCmax is controlled by the OmniSEC software and mates seamlessly with the Model 270 Dual Detector and Model 3580 Refractive Index (RI) Detector to form a complete GPC/SEC system.

OmniSEC is a powerful and flexible GPC/SEC software program specifically designed to maximize the information content and efficiency of the multiple detector chromatography experiment. Key features include interactive programs for calculation of results in a real-time time environment, automatic baseline and peak detection, multiple peak analysis, copolymer and conjugate compositional analysis and determination of A2 and B22 values. OmniSEC allows full control of the 270max GPC/SEC system along with data acquisition, processing and export, and is 21 CFR part 11 compliant.
