 Viscotek manufactures Gel Permeation Chromatography
(GPC),
Dilute Solution Viscosity (DSV) and
Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) detectors,
software and systems for the characterization of natural and synthetic polymer,
biopolymers and nanoparticles. Each Viscotek product is specifically designed to
meet the characterization requirements of our customers and provide the information
content desired.
Gel Permeation Chromatography products deliver a distribution of molecular weight,
molecular size (expressed as Radius of Gyration or Hydrodynamic Radius) and intrinsic
viscosity, as well as information on macromolecular structure, conformation, aggregation
and branching. Viscotek is a complete GPC provider manufacturing
detectors, software, systems,
columns and standards for
Conventional Calibration,
Universal Calibration and Triple Detection.
Our patented light scattering and
viscometer detectors
provide accurate and absolute information while our proprietary column technologies and integrated systems expand
application opportunities and promote ease-of-use.
 Dilute Solution Viscosity
products are employed to determine the relative viscosity
of a material in solution. From the relative viscosity the inherent, intrinsic,
reduced and absolute viscosities can all be calculated. Viscotek manufactures the
world’s only true
relative viscometer and provides a variety of system
and software
options to automate and simplify the dissolution and measurement process. A superior
alternative to glass capillary tube technology, our automated systems are specifically
designed to increase sample throughput and enhance operator safety while providing
superior sensitivity and accuracy.
Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) detectors
provide a fast, accurate and direct measurement
of molecular size (Rh), as well as information on aggregation, polydispersity and
molecular weight. Viscotek manufactures
batch DLS detectors that employ a cuvette
for simple and routine determinations of size, and plate-reader DLS systems for
high-throughput applications. Both versions of our DLS detectors employ patented
single-mode fiber technology for superior sensitivity, temperature control with
temperature-ramping capability and Dual Attenuation Technology (DAT) for sample
measurement at high and low concentrations.
